Several significant church growth developments have recently taken place in regards to LDS outreach in Burma and Burmese-specific outreach in other nations such the organization of a Karen-speaking branch in Salt Lake City, Utah for Burmese refugees in 2009 and the assignment of the first young elders to serve in Yangon in February 2014.
